I go back and forth all the time. My biggest fear is Luke, Leia and Han come off terribly in the new trilogy. The PT sucked, but it didn't taint Han, Luke and Leia. Sometimes I'm hyped for 3 new SW movies (simply because I am such a huge fan of the OT movies), and then other times I think what can they really do at this point that would come off as original?

Every Movie or TV franchise stalls out at some point, and I don't want to look back in 2020 after a sup-bar Sequel Trilogy and say, "Geez, we have 1 Great Trilogy of 3 movies and 2 trilogies of 6 bad movies!"

By 2020, there should be 5-6 new Star Wars movies due to the spin-offs. So your numbers are wrong.

For whatever reason, they posted the "Revenge of the Jedi" trailer today.

Nevermind, this was a week ago. I just got the update via YouTube channel subscription today. My bad.

If they're bad, just don't go to see them. Pay no attention.

I'm sure the sequels won't mess things up as much as the Expanded Universe has.

I know it's pointless to say this in a Star Wars thread no less, but who cares? SO much anticipation will be built up (yet again) that these will NEVER, EVER meet up with expectations.

Telegraph.co.uk has an article that mentions Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, Serenity) was seen in the lobby of Abrams's office. If it's related to Star Wars, I say . Great actor.

Let us hope it's something worthwhile to have him. I'd hate to see him wasted. Seems to do good in everything though. Still STILL need to see Redbelt.

Saoirse Ronan said she didn't get the part. Kind of a surprise. The Search for Jaina continues.

Word is they've called the agent for Miley Cyrus.

The greatest Star Wars deleted scene that never was.

BTW, today's youtube video on the official SW channel was the main trailer for TESB. So at least they're continuing the pattern that may or not actually be a pattern.

Can't speak for Hamill or Fisher (primarily because they haven't been in any big movies for a while), but Ford seems to be back to doing great work again...his performances in both '42' and 'Ender's Game' were the best he's given in about 20 years. Ford had no desire to play Solo again, so they must be doing something interesting with him or he would have just said "no."

Didn't Ford only sign on for these once they agreed to make Indy 5?

If they truly intend to hit the Summer of 2015, then a year from now we should see a full blown trailer. While I am somewhat baffled that they have yet to shoot any footage for this movie (the prequels spent two years in post production), it makes me hopeful that they are going to do as many traditional and practical effects as possible. The reason the PT took so long was an overabundance of CGI.

I don't think there's any way they can hit Summer 2015 without compromising the picture.

He wanted to be killed off in Jedi, maybe they're doing that now.

Seems sort of odd they're going for a winter release rather than a summer one. Maybe they're trying to avoid some of the summer competition as 2015 is already pretty packed for big movies. Either that or they're just trying to push it off as far as they can so they have enough time to finish and meet the 2015 goal.

pretty sure it is a bit of both. the previous 3 movies left a bad taste in people's mouth. so, they get a spot that's not summer blockbuster time to get crushed due to competition and they also get extra 6 months to make sure it is right.

The prequels were all released in May, and Disney already has a tent pole there with Avengers. Between that and how packed the summer is, going with a month that worked well for Lord of the Rings probably isn't a bad option.
