I just saw this news posted at CBR. I am at a loss. I was looking forward to this movie but now... I just don't know. Are they just goofing around with this type of casting?

Irons as Alfred is perfect.
But, Eisenburg? Seriously? WTF? So they are making Lex into a young snot nose douche bag.

Yeah, I don't mind Eisenberg at all but he looks too young to be playing Lex against the rest of the cast. Irons is great.

I like Jeremy Irons but Michael Gambon would be my choice Alfred.
Eisenberg as Lex Luthor I do not understand.

I like Eisenberg but this just seems so wrong. Someone on Twitter asked if Michael Cera will be Robin. That might not have been a joke.

Irons i find to be a hack actor these days. Eisenberg....the mind simply boggles.
I think that DC see Marvel making inspired casting choices that are sometimes left field, not obvious or celebrity actors and actually great actors who suit the role and bring gravitas to them, rather than bringing star power. This is one of the big reasons that Marvel continues to hold peoples interest. They care about attaching the right person to characters. DC it seems wants to emulate it, but does not know how to go about it the right way. Ledger as the Joker was in that vein as he was not a big name, he had an acting range and he was willing to give 100% to making the character interesting and his own. Gal Gadot simply seems all kinds of wrong for Wonder Woman (Jamie Alexander would have been perfect if she wasn't already in the Thor movies), Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern was all kinds of wrong....any movie with him in is box office poison, Ben Affleck i am reserving judgment on as i think he has the potential to make it interesting, but Eisenberg as Luthor is wrong. Any surprise from the way he plays the part is already wasted as this is an actor who always plays the same character in every movie, simply with a name change.

The must have seen Eisenberg's recent performance on Modern Family and thought, that's Lex Luthor.

Intrigue and interested by this. I want to see how this plays out. I like how they didn't go for the obvious or popular choices.

I don't care who's playing him, it's too damn early for Lex Luthor in the MoS series.

Because they just didn't have the guts to cast Jonah Hill as Luthor. (Unless, of course, he gets to be Otis.)
